Another long overdue catch-up
How things have changed!! Tomorrow is the last day of the October – and November has a LOT of work scheduled. We alloted a month to the kitchen, because we knew that it would take the most time… What we did not take into consideration, was that we would find a collapsed basement wall around the base of the kitchen after removing the old walkway/porch around the back of the house! 
When I last wrote, we had started on the kitchen … Only yesterday, did we manage to finish the foundations. There is still no floor. The bottom plates (which actually have more in common with a beam, because they’re about 10″ square) were largly rotten, and we have yet to remove and replace one portion of wall because it is so bad. Oh, the poor house. So badly neglected! I’m still hoping that we can have the utilities turned on around the 17th of November or so… but we’ll have to get the City in to inspect the electrics because they’ve been off for over 2 years. Gas and Water should be fine – and we’ll just transfer the Telephone/Internet from our current house. In other news, we’ve been buying land! 
This is the view from the smallest bedroom, looking north. We own back to the white section in the middle-back of the picture.
